The nominees have been announced for this year's BRITISH ACADEMY (As they like to be called now) formerly BAFTA . The King's Speech leaped ahead with a whopping 14 nominations, including Best Film, Cinematography, An expected Best Actor nod for Colin Firth. Geoffrey Rush; Best Supporting Actor and Helena Bonham-Carter for Best Supporting Whactress, sorry I mean, Actress. Nods for director and Writer are among them also.

The Social Network, the big Globes victor, only has six BAFTA nominations.

Pete Postlethwaite, who passed away two weeks ago, received a posthumous Supporting Actor nomination for The Town. (Which I believe he deserved)  joined by Other Brits Andrew Garfield for The Social Network and Christian Bale for The Fighter. Three nods for the British ladies too, Helena Bonham-Carter will be competing against Made in Dagenham's Miranda Richardson and Mike Leigh's darling, Leslie Manville for Another Year.

Who do you think is most deserving?

Here's the full list of nominations.

Also you can watch the British Academy Film Awards on BBC America on February 13, 2011
