Derek Jacobi as King Lear - coming to the USA

Derek Jacobi has just finished a run of King Lear at the Donmar Warehouse and they are bringing the production to the USA. At the age of 72 his career is as busy as ever. He can currently be seen in the Oscar nominated film The Kings Speech, and he has just finished working on Showtime's new series The Borgias (also starring Jeremy Irons and Joanne Whalley) which premieres in April . "Lear" will be broadcast to cinemas across the US as part of the National Theatre Live series. In Los Angeles, the play will be broadcast at the La Mirada Theatre today at 2pm . This is a repeat broadcast. It was broadcast live from the National Theatre at various cinemas around the globe, on February 3rd. For upcoming list of National Theatre Live series please click here
In April, The live production will have its American premier in NY , visit BAM for full details . I was lucky enough to see Ian McKellan as Lear back in 2007, so really look forward to Jacobi's take on the role.
