Vivienne Westwood comes to LA



LOS ANGELES (February 4, 2011) – Vivienne Westwood Ltd. announces its arrival in the United States with an expansive 10,000-square-foot-retail store in the heart of Los Angeles’ Melrose shopping district. Now recognized as a global brand, Vivienne Westwood is known for its avant-garde yet timeless designs, and Vivienne herself is considered to be one of the most influential fashion designers in the world today. The company intends to introduce Vivienne Westwood to the American consumer with the highly anticipated opening of the Los Angeles store in February 2011.

The shop will offer Vivienne Westwood’s full range of offerings under one roof, including Westwood’s Gold Label, Red Label, Anglomania, MAN Collection as well as jewelry and accessories. The store will also house a new jewelry collection designed especially for the Los Angeles store; the collection will include a limited-edition pearl skull winged pendant, coin keyrings, and printed and Swarovski-encrusted made-to-order belts.

Spanning three floors, the store’s main retail space will be situated on the first floor, with wholesale on the second floor and a rooftop terrace on the third floor. The boutique’s sophisticated décor remains consistent with the aesthetic of Vivienne Westwood’s international locations. Inspired by quintessential Parisian hotels, including Hotel George V and the Ritz, the building is eco-friendly and features architectural elements of wood, brass and European stone.
