Hi Breeps!

I'm off on Friday for three weeks to Africa - So expect lots of pics of Rhinos, giraffes and lions upon my return.

I'd like to start by introducing our intern Michael DeMarco to Brits in LA. He hails from Chicago where he attends Northwestern University. An aspiring theatre actor, Michael is excited to be spending the summer with us here in LA. If you see him around, which I'm sure you will, please give him a big British welcome.
This past week saw some cool things - BAFTA hosted the Southern California student film awards which screened the 7 finalists including the winner, Julio Ramos, director of "Una Carrerita, Doctor!"

Maria-Elena Infantino's portrayal of Edit Piaf was spectacular in an intimate setting at the Gardenia on Santa Monica Boulevard.  Members Rob Pait and his wife Marina Paganucci thought she was utterly brilliant. Our intern, DeMarco was invited up for a bit of a dance.
I was fortunate enough to see the Tony and Olivier winning play 'War Horse' at the Ahmanson Theatre this week too, where I spotted one of our greatest icons, Dame Julie Andrews in the audience. She seemed to be limping slightly. Hoping it's nothing too serious. She looked amazing. War Horse is 10x better than the movie, and I highly recommend it - It's worth seeing just for the horse alone. We have discounted tickets available too- (see below in the theatre section).
Congrats to the cast of The Secret of Sherlock Holmes, who have been nominated for Best International play at this year's FRINGE festival. I believe they will extend their run, as part of the Best of the FRINGE. England as we know by now, clumsly exited the EUFA cup in a penalty shoot out against Italy, who out played Gerard and the gang during the 120 minute game. Brits gathered to watch at Hollywood favourite pub Rock n' Reilly's on Sunset. It was nice to see Irish striker Robbie Keane join in with the boos and cheers everytime Balotelli  shot on goal and either missed or deflected by our goalie Hart - who I think worked his bum off in the game, despite letting in the 4 goals in the penalty shoot out.

Saturday, members gathered for the LA Theatre works production of "The Browning Version" with Martin Jarvis and Steven Brand. Julian Sands (who was in the actual movie version) hosted the evening and said how much he appreciates the British community in Los Angeles and how we come together and support each other in the arts as well as in life. The British General Consulate - Dame Barbara Hay - was in attendance and was pleased to see so many ex-pats supporting and getting involved in theatre in Los Angleles. The fantastic thesp John Rhys Davies was in the foyer afterwards with his talent manager Louisa Spring enjoying the complimentary One Hope wine, donated by Christine Peake PR. who also invited the Brits to the 220 Gym in Santa Monica for an afternoon of music and libations in the gyms parking lot where I ran into members actor Oliver Goodwill sporting a new tattoo, and fashion designer Julia Clancy, dressed for the summer and enjoying the Ultimat vodka drinks and live music.

We will be hosting a special viewing party for the opening ceremony of the Olympics on July 27th and are excited to be celebrating our 5th Anniversary Party on the 5th of August. We are ironing out the details still, but keep tuned for the latest updates.

Have a great week and see ya at Breakfast with the Brits tomorrow.

Well done today lads, going down 3-2 (including a well offside goal) to the league leaders is no disgrace. You all hung in and dug deep. At 2-0 heads could have gone down, but you picked it up and handed it to them

It’s the time to plan ahead for a trip in early August. This may be a move also
and as its best planned at least in part before mid July make sure you are setting things in order. Have fun with long time friends is long overdue.

Your priority should be taking care of you in any area that requires attention as your life style is somewhat hectic lately. You are in the early part of your new year  so any area of your life that requires attention should be your priority.

If you feel you need to make a move in settling some kind of emotional situation but are not sure how will be received right now it will be easier as the week proceeds.
Take care you follow up on any commitments to close family or friends.

You will have to be aware this next week to not speak out of turn or harshly to any one .The consequences are long reaching for you especially if it’s a close friend or family .The month of July will  be better. Happy Birthday.

Yes this is a time for the inner show person to reveal itself for some of you who are not participating in life as you know you can. The fact is that you already know this any way you just need a kick start and when the opportunity appears go for it.

Its time for a trip and short or long near or far matters not as you benefit from the change of scenery. Just make sure you have caught up with what ever is unfinished especially at home. The war planet Mars is leaving you soon and will be energizing your money house.
Relationships are highlighted this month as your Ruler Venus is  will be soon going in for a forward stroll  in this area  of life for you so make sure you are as charming as you can be and with the right people .Opportunity is knocking career wise in July.

This has not been the easiest of times recently especially in health mentally, psychically or emotionally. The sun now in your cousin sign of Cancer will brighten things up for you literally. Take plenty of rest and keep calm.

Just watch that temper if things don’t always go the way you planned life is an adventure.

and you need to remember that child like quality which is so unique to you. You may be

worried about finances don’t be!!

This could be the month that it all comes together or goes out the window it is entirely up to you how you make it work .So be sure you don’t let any body talk you out of something that can be very beneficial for you so listening to your inner voice is the clue.

You will always get back what you put out and just be careful you don’t say to much to another  that can really blow your plans .Keep your thoughts  to your self is best. And it’s sure a great time to take of out of town and relax.

You must be so open to changing your plans at short notice this coming week ahead or so. You are usually the least offender of speaking with a sharp tongue however the truth hurts some times so make sure when you speak it no one gets hurt!
G'wan Gary you tell 'em
