Hi Everyone
How has 2013 treated you so far ?
My friend Claudia posted a lovely idea where you write all the good things that happen to you on a post it then pop them in a jar. I think this is a lovely idea - so far my jar is empty though..

I am so excited about the Toscars this year.
We will be holding the team selection night at Palihouse this Thursday January 10th. There are a couple of spaces left still so sign up now! Your last chance to star in a Toscar nominated film! This year we will be holding the screenings and award ceremony at the historic Egyptian Theatre, just a few 100 yards away from the actual Oscars .

I am very proud to say I am a Toscar winner,  for SlumDawg Millionaire, which you can see below

Tix to participate are available on Eventbrite - You will automatically be added to a waitlist and then you will get an email informing you if you were successful.
Visit EventBrite to sign up password is "BILA" and make sure to like The Toscars Facebook page
and follow us on Twitter
I am also really looking forward to all the great British acts playing in LA over the next few weeks. Muse, Ellie Goulding, Emile Sande and Jake Bugg will all be here and I am hoping to go to every show.
Coachella Music Festival tickets go on sale very soon, so don't miss out as it is always like a mini Britfest. Tickets sell out within hours, so my advice if to snap a couple up and if for some reason you find you can go, there will always be someone willing to buy them off you.
If you will be visiting LA for pilot season in January. Make sure to read our newsletter all the way through to take advantage of all our advertisers (lawyers, rental cars etc)  and other groups to help the transition smoother (Brits in LA Housing being very useful if you need a short term place!) Any questions not answered here just drop us an email or post on the Facebook Page.

Cheers
Eileen

MEMBERS NEWS

Benefit for Save The Children
Reuben is a British barrister living and working in London. He has a band called "Infinite Jest" and we have entered a battle of the bands in L.A. at the Whiskey A Go Go on 1st March 2013! All the members of the band are barristers. All the members of the other bands are US attorneys!

You can see them on you tube at a a gig at the 100 Club in Oxford Street last September.

They are raising money for Save the Children. All the details of the gig can be found at http://www.lawrocks.com.
$50 a ticket available from the website. All the money goes to charity.
They are the only British band playing against 7 US bands and need all the British support we can get! I'm hoping that the expats of LA can help support us.

ARIES.

Please keep a low profile this month as the planets are preparing to move forward swiftly .They will start benefiting you in February and so best thing all round is start nothing you cannot finish before end of this month.

TAURUS

What a change in pace you are due for and in order to prepare for this
second wind you have to clear all unfinished tasks to make space for the new.
By the end of this month you will be able to chill out a little.

GEM
Time to plan a trip long or several shorter ones .As all of this is happening in the first part of the year make a space for catching up with old friends who may be near or far . Jupiter with you starting this month again is good for a little romance.

CAN
To not bend in the wind  when its stormy can damage the tree and since you are not  remotely like the tree  you will be in worse shape if you are not pliant in some emotional situation you are dragging along behind!

LEO.
Mars the fire planet in Aquarius will bring a situation to a head in your life possibly
in any financial area in your life or of those close to you. The good news is if you
take control now you will be in good shape by February

VIR
Any frustrations you have in any area of life most likely the work arena will not
get better by taking your frustrations out on others around you .It is always best to treat others as you would wanted to be treated yourself.

LIB
You are ready to for a very new and healthier life style and it’s right on
Time for the New Year resolutions. Once you can decide what your plan of action is the hardest part is to not procrastinate.

SCOR
Jupiter the luck bringer will be blessing you lots in the coming weeks as he moves through the financial sector of your life .Also possible that a person of interest to you romantically will come in to your life just when you least expected .

SAG,
Just watch that temper if things don’t always go the way you planned life is an adventure.
and you need to remember that child like quality which is so unique to you. You will be doing much better come middle of the month.

CAP
This could be the month that it all comes together or you let it go .You started this year with a solar eclipse in your sign which signals endings .Remember when one door closes another will swing open.

AQU
Jupiter in your cousin sign Gemini is of preparing you for better days ahead .This will
probably happen nearer March .In the mean time new opportunities to boost your life in  different ways, maybe not  what you expected but none the less good.

the last year has been soulful  indeed and several  doors  closed that you may not yet have accepted .Remember that change is not always bad for you.
