If you are new to LA you maybe interested to know that you don’t need an American credit score to buy or lease a car, there is such thing as an International Leasing plan that both Volkswagen, Santa Monica and Audi Pacific offer, that takes into account your credit score back home and proof of some sort of visa to work in the USA. Email Artem or Jordan at Volkswagen, SM or Evan Bolton at Audi Pacific at to find out how you can get into a car hassle free - these guys have helped countless Brits in LA members already.
Plus both dealerships have committed to donating $100 per vehicle leased or sold to

The UKARES FOUNDATION!
This past week was very busy for us. I went to check out the Grammy Museum (800 W.Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015) which currently has an exhibit of ‘The Beatles’ Drummer Ringo Starr.
You can see drum-kits, original stage outfits and sing along with “Yellow Submarine” with him. Lots of interactive things to do and I highly recommend visiting when you have family in town.
contact Aaron for group tickets.
I'm also in the middle of renovating my home and was recommended this amazing alarm company called www.alarm.com where i can control my alarm remotely using my iPhone, but not just my alarm, the lights, the thermostat, I get updates when I'm not home who enters my home as i can give unique codes to different uses. It has a live person response through an intercom too. Ive had a few false alarms getting used to it and their response is immediate. Send an email to Adam to find out more. Use the code 9377 when signing up for FREE installation. The equipment I got was less than $100 (including glass break sensors, door bell, A/C unit and the monthly fees are comparable to ADT and POST. Well worth it for piece of mind.
On Sunday we hosted a fantastic event afternoon event at The Palihouse (8465 Holloway Dr. West Hollywood, CA 90069) to celebrate Prince George’s arrival.
150 members enjoyed cucumber sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, beer, wine and Pimm's in the garden for a prop’r summer fete.
We loved that we were able to host an event for families. Where we had a fun fancy dress (costume) competition, lots of candy floss, popcorn and old fashioned games for the kids, including bottle toss & leap frog.
We had Anne Shaw (Astrologer) reading tarot for guests and the British inspired clothing company “Scream Famous” (7712 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046) set up a pop-up shop with 10% of all sales going to Baby2Baby , our very fitting charity we chose to benefit. We have set up a baby registry where members can go online and purchase items for underprivileged local mothers, who can’t afford these items for their newborns. It’s not too late to contribute, please visit http://www.diapers.com/baby-registry/188873/Baby-To-Baby and pick out some items from our registry.
Thank you to our wonderful talent who thoroughly entertained us all afternoon
Amadan Gra, Summer Watson, Dram!

What one thing do you miss from home?

What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here?

" Nicky's Family is that rare Holocaust documentary that is largely uplifting. And it’s particularly heartwarming to note that its central figure is still around to reap his deserved accolades."
The film is about Sir Nicholas Winton and the nearly forgotten tale of his
rescue of 669 Czech and Slovak children in 1939. Because of his efforts,
of the 300 "children" who have been found, over 5,700 descendants are now
alive. Sir Winton, now 104 years old, has been knighted by Queen Elizabeth

Now Playing – August 18, 2013
A time-twisting funhouse from the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®-winning author of Clybourne Park and the Tony Award®-winning director of August: Osage County.
Past, present and future collide for Bee, when strange new revelations rock her seemingly normal suburban life, taking us down the rabbit hole on a wildly unforgettable ride full of hairpin plot turns, riotously shifting realities and havoc-wreaking time travel.
This bold new play will make you laugh, gasp and wonder how much control we truly have over our lives.
Masterful storyteller Norris follows up his monster Taper hit Clybourne Park with a mind-scrambling comedy that gleefully distorts our perspective while posing profound questions about the choices we make.
“It makes your head spin in all the right ways.”

GET ME TO HOLLYWOOD: BRITISH EDITION
BRITS ON THE STAGE
Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Sunset Boulevard" From Musical Theatre West
Hollywood noir meets Broadway razzle-dazzle in Sunset Boulevard, Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical adaptation of Billy Wilder's classic film. Complemented by one of Webber's most radiant scores, Sunset Boulevard is every bit as enthralling, dark and delicious as the original black-and-white masterpiece. Sidelined by the introduction of "talkies," silent movie star Norma Desmond longs for a return to the big screen. Her neediness and cunning provide the perfect trap for down-and-out screenwriter Joe Gillis who wanders into her decaying mansion looking for a quick buck ... and gets much more in return. A friend is really not having a good experience in life and needs your support and the sun in your cousin sign Leo will bring you the energy to help . This coming week it’s about family or who you consider such.
You should start to get moving and grooving and start the week in good form and
energy. You will have the Sun shining on you for pleasant recreation. This is not the time for changes in career situations until the end of August.
What can you achieve this week is up to how willing you are to make the right call to the right person on time .Hold off on major decisions until the end of August as your energy will move you in a good direction then.
If you continue to hold on to grudges you will be on the wrong end of the stick
this week in a situation that will require you to keep your temper .The Sun in your money house however is a gift bringer. Its still a good time with Jupiter in your life.
The powerful sun in your own sign is in a good mood this month so you should begin the month finishing of any thing not finished from the whole of the year so far.
Happy Birthday to you Lions.
Any task or job unfinished will be easier to deal with after the 15th of this month. Hopefully you will spare time to relax and play until then. Work picks up nearer September so hang on until then.
Travel is much on your mind and this can make you a bit antsy if you cannot get away right now. The fact is that other things are on your plate so bite the bullet and wait until September. It will be much easier all round then.
It’s still heavy going these days, however there is always a reason for anything under the Sun ,so it is up to you yourself to discover what is the most important lesson you are learning now .You will much better generally by the end of this month.
Your boss Jupiter is sitting in Cancer the leader of the water signs so be aware that any emotionally charged areas for you. They will be ready to open up and spill with this in mind watch that temper. However all is not totally lost as the sun in your cousin sign Leo smiles at you and brings some fun days. .
This month is a great opportunity to decide on a long overdue decision in any area. In the mean time be seen out and about looking your best. You will be in a forgiving mood so
at long last time to say good bye to any negative past.
You are probably feeling like a break away so even if you can not get out of town take time out in the garden or walk on the beach .If you feel nervous it’s due to the very active planets affecting your emotions in this coming week.
.Financial situations are much on your mind and if you learn Rome was not built in a day things will work much easier for you. If some one around you is acting out their drama remember it’s not yours .Do not react to it!!
So Jane Austen is to replace Charles Darwin as the new face on the £10 note. The man who discovered evolution has been traded for a bitchy marriage-broker who never married.
