The Heat is On! Tips for staying safe this summer.

This weather is great if you are on holiday, but not so good for those of us who live and work in it. Below are a few tips and reminders. Email us here if you have a tip you want to add to the list.

1. Wear Sunscreen
Bill McElligott drove a truck for 28 years. Hence the left side of his face is severely sun damaged. Make sure to block up your kids every morning before school too! Even your dogs nose needs protection.

2. Dogs Die In Hot Cars
Leave your dog at home! If you see a dog left unattended in a car, do something!
Dog's also get hot feet!

3. Conserve Water
Despite our green surroundings, we actually live in a desert! Don't waste water!

4. Fire Season

Brush clearance is vital. If you rent and your landlord isn't doing his job and keeping your home safe you can report it here. Same goes for your neighbours. Most wild fires are started by humans. Click here to see how you can help prevent them
5. Stay Hydrated

Very important to drink lots of water in this heat! Every year there are several reports of someone in trouble due to dehydration, even at local hiking trail Runyon Canyon! March 9th 2014 a hiker collapsed and died.
If you are going on a road trip pack a crate of water. We live in a desert even though it doesn't look like it!
