Was there a particular reason you chose LA ?
LA is an amazing town to write in, all the things that make it a sometimes difficult city pour into your words. LA has a heartbeat unlike any other place in the world. l love it!
What one thing do you miss from home?
I know I should say family and friends ( I do miss them) but what I miss is waking up early on a Saturday, making my way to Upton Park and cheering on my West Ham. Then go to the chippy and meeting friends at my local.
What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus London?
I think it comes down to history and culture, London is so old and the arts so much a part of the culture, in LA everything is new and culture is business. But there is so much opportunity here
Do you have a hidden gem in LA that you want to share with us?
Well my new show Goodbye Marilyn, runs Sept. 5th through Oct 12th, which is at a hidden gem of a theatre called the Working Stage, 1516 N. Gardner Street in West Hollywood. Lovely intimate space with plenty of parking. available ( In LA parking is a plus)
What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here ?
The advice I was given holds true " Stay for two years, even if you hate it... then decide if you are staying or going, then stay one more year regardless. It takes that long to gain traction."
Lastly , how can we find out more about you ? Are you on the Internet ?
You can find out much more about me at GoodbyeMarilyn.com, or come to Brits in LA Pub Quiz and have a natter.
