Brits in LA was established in 2007 as a mixer for British Ex-pats, that soon became much more. Brits in LA has helped shape the British Community in Los Angeles, teaming up with some amazing establishments like LACMA, The British Consulate and BAFTA/LA. Brits in LA, for most transients it’s the first port of call. Answering questions and giving free advice on all subjects, from Visas and green-cards to Housing, taxes and where to find the cheapest car rentals. Brits in LA finds it important to continue to grow and help promote British companies and brands that are moving stateside. They have already worked with many companies, such as Reiss, Lloyds-TSB, Air New Zealand, Volkswagen, Coldwell Banker, Waterford Crystal, Carasoin Spa, Cecconi’s Restaurant, Benjamin-Galvin Hairdressers, SBE and many bars and clubs around LA. Social media sites such as Twitter and Blogger have helped Brits in LA widen their market allowing them daily updates of British and Los Angeles local news. Through their private (you must request to join) Facebook group, they get to protect their members and the information they share on the wall. They have in place a strict code of conduct. So if anyone misbehaves they will be removed from the group. It’s important to make sure their members feel safe and secure. And also uphold the fine reputation of the British people living in Los Angeles. Brits in LA provide an array of events each year, from their weekly Breakfast Club, Sunday luncheons, trips away (Palm Springs, Vegas) They have even set up their own football team Blaggers United, F.C. For those brits how miss the love of the game. In the past year Brits in LA Hosted more than 60 events, including an 800 person event for the 2010 World Cup and a celebrity attended Roast Dinner, honoring all the British film makers in attendance at the Sundance Film Festival.
