You may think that SADE is not the kind of artist you would want to see live. Sultry singer, backed by a five piece band. Yawn! Well you would be so wrong! SADE last night rounded up her 3 night With a giant screen at the back of the stage and dramatic artistry with velvet drapes and white silk nets, this concert was anything but dull. Her Love's Deluxe album was my baby making music back when I was in my teens. (showing my age) and it still stands up today (the music breeps, minds out of the gutter, please) Who needs Oysters and Champagne as an aphrodisiac. Just pass the Sade.

Our Football Team 'The BLAggers' are doing so well. Keep up the good work boys! It was suggested that we set up a Brits in LA cricket Team, Let me know if you are interested and we'll get it together -

Here is The BLAggers match report from playing Hollywood United this past weekend. Welcome to new signing Ollie Treverna.

BLAggers FC 0- 3 Hollywood United
Sat Aug 20th, 4pm, Pali High.
By Brits In La Reporter
Hogg (GK) Sims, Maysh, Kelly, Jones, Quirk, Sabitri, Blankley, Ardon, Kim, Boutell, Roubicek, Landis, Trevena, Nash. Coach: Bob Gibson.
Palisades High School has become somewhat of an unlucky stadium for LA Premier League debutantes, BLAggers FC. Horror film Carrie was famously filmed here, but this Saturday it was the referee who had the nightmare, awarding two controversial second-half goals that murdered this lively clash.
BLAggers FC, the team newly formed from members of the Brits in LA Facebook group, were a respectable 8th in the league before this match against 3rd place Hollywood United, and it was clear the newcomers were the underdogs. United are one of the league’s more established clubs - founded in the 1980s, they also have a team in the professional National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
However, United, who describe themselves as a ‘global brand’, and boast a catalogue of leisurewear, found it hard to contain the BLAggers’ strong side, that today included impressive new signing Ollie Trevena. Solid defending from a BLAggers back four that included an Englishman (Bouttell) a Scotsman (Quirk) and a Welshman (Jones) was nothing to be laughed at, as the half finished 0-0. After a rousing team-talk from player/manager Bob Gibson, the BLAggers came out fighting.
But it was United who broke through and scored twice in quick succession, despite huge appeals for offside – twice – and handball. The BLAggers bravely fought on, and only some supernatural goalkeeping from United’s substitute ‘keeper shut down any hopes of comeback. A third goal followed. Bob Gibson said of the performance, “I hate losing,” but insists the BLAggers will still qualify for the League Cup, adding: “Next week’s game against Valhalla is a big one.”

You can follow the team’s progress of their first year in the LA Premier League here

G'wan Robbie, my son!

Robbie Keane Footy tops sold out at LA Galaxy at this past weekend's match - Beckham must not like that!
Just 48 hours after arriving on the west coast, Keane put in a classic Keane performance: he created chances for himself with his awareness and he scored before launching into his trademark gymnastic celebration.
He was substituted with 20 minutes to go. He was prob jet lagged! - or tired from settling in to this oh so LA lifestyle!
