Hi Breeps,
I'm a little hungover from the weekend - Needless to stay 'Brits go Sideways' was very popular and I for one over indulged! May I ask if you have any incriminating pictures of me and the bus stripper pole, feel free to shred or hit delete.  Big Thanks to Eileen who did the most of the work on this trip and to the Old creek ranch winery in Ojai for looking after us and a big shoutout to BLA member Douglas Dewar who brought us all his homemade scotch eggs!

BLA member   Lisa Marks is heading back to the UK for a short time and is looking for a loving foster home for her cat Lola. Lola is a very sweet Siamese (who was rescued from a dumpster), who likes to sleep, eat and sleep. And eat. And then sleep some more. Ideally, it would be with one responsible, caring person who has no pets but likes the idea of having a cat around for a few weeks. A yard would be heaven. Email

“An exhilarating double bill.”- The Telegraph

Scottish Ballet
October 14 – 16, 2011 | Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at the Music Center

Poetic, distinguished and altogether brilliant, Scottish Ballet will astound audiences in their first U.S. performance in 25 years. This program will feature an exhilarating double bill starting with Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s masterwork Song of the Earth, a powerful and bitter-sweet celebration of the cycles of life. In contrast, the North American premiere of Kings 2 Ends—a new work by the fiercely contemporary choreographer Jorma Elo—invites audiences to immerse themselves in its lyrical and vibrant choreography.

Mention code 16736* to receive 20% off tickets to Opening Night, October 14.

For tickets and information, visit  or call (213) 972-0711.

*Valid in Main Orchestra, Premier Founders, Main Founders, Rear Orchestra and Front Loge. Expires October 1, 2011. No refunds, cancellations or exchanges.  Artists and program subject to change.
A Conversation With Edith Head

Hollywood's most famous costume designer dishes wit, wisdom and gossip in "A CONVERSATION WITH EDITH HEAD' on the set of her last film, Steve Martin's, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.  In six decades of costume design, Edith Head worked on eleven hundred films, dressed the greatest stars of Hollywood, received 36 Academy Award nominations and won an unprecedented eight Oscars.  Her personal story is as fascinating as the history of the film industry, filled with humour, frustration and above all, glamour.  Played by Susan Claesson this is a tour de force and one of the most entertaining evenings spent in the theatre.  You will smile loudly all the way through.  Listen to her gossip about Marilyn Munroe, Bette Davis, Grace Kelly, and many more.

Tickets are selling fast as this is a small theatre.  Please quote BRIT at the box office for this special price.

BLAggers FC 0- 2 Pacific Athletic

Hogg (GK), Jones, Blankley, Kelly, Maysh, Bouttell, McCarthy, Trowler, Nash. Coach: Bob Gibson.

TEN-MAN BLAGGERS FC put on a brave defensive performance this weekend against second place LA Premier League outfit, Pacific Athletic. Out-numbered, but in no way out-classed, the BLAggers team suffered from last minute injury and absenteeism woes, taking to the field a man short and with everything to prove.
It took two dubious goals, given amid feverish appeals for offside, to sink the BLAggers chances of salvaging a point from this fixture, after strikers McCarthy and Nash failed to find any luck in front of goal. But it was truly ‘tin hats and bayonets’ at the back, as the BLAggers fought to keep the score-line respectable, and prove they are a force to be reckoned with - - even playing a man down. “This was some of the best football we’ve played all season,” said coach Bob Gibson, at full-time, but when pressed to sum up the result in one word, he said, “Frustrating.”
BLAggers take on top of the league Valhalla on Tuesday October 4th, and all supporters from the Brits in LA Facebook group are encouraged to come and watch the spectacle. Kick off is at 8pm, Crossroads School, Santa Monica.
