We've all come to Hollywood for different reasons, but mostly out of hope for a better life, better opportunities.  And we have all seen those on the streets of Hollywood who have fallen on difficult times and not had family and friends to count on. Los Angeles is the homeless capital of America with 50,000 living on the streets, 40% of which are women and children.  There is a group of people that deeply cares about the wellbeing of all of our homeless friends and neighbours and busts their backsides working on and implementing solutions.   On Saturday November 19th, once again we will gather in Downtown LA for the annual Homewalk and this year Kobe Bryant is the honorary chair.

For further info and to join our team go to and look for team listings on the left and join Hollywood4WRD - which stands for (4 Walls, a Roof and a Door).

If you want to 'sponsor a Brit'  (Tanya)  but don't want to take part in the walk/run you can go to my donation page :-

Not only will you be in time for next year's tax donations deductibles but you will also be instrumental in hfacilitating the pathway to solutions out of homelessness.  Homelessness is affecting more and more people across the socio-economic barriers.  Next year it could be one of us.... Together, let's help find a way out of this mess!

“An exhilarating double bill.”- The Telegraph

Scottish Ballet
October 14 – 16, 2011 | Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at the Music Center

Poetic, distinguished and altogether brilliant, Scottish Ballet will astound audiences in their first U.S. performance in 25 years. This program will feature an exhilarating double bill starting with Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s masterwork Song of the Earth, a powerful and bitter-sweet celebration of the cycles of life. In contrast, the North American premiere of Kings 2 Ends—a new work by the fiercely contemporary choreographer Jorma Elo—invites audiences to immerse themselves in its lyrical and vibrant choreography.

Mention code 16736* to receive 20% off tickets to Opening Night, October 14.

BLAggers FC 2- 2 Celtic
Saturday Oct 8th, Santa Monica College
By Brits In La Reporter
Hogg (GK) Quirk (c), Kim, Kelly, Trowler, Maysh, Sims, Alex, Blankley, Zuko, D., Luke. Coach: Bob Gibson.
DEFIANT Brits in LA soccer team BLAggers FC ran out at Santa Monica College on Saturday evening requiring only a victory against Celtic to stand a chance at finishing in the top six, in this, the team’s first season in the LA Premier League. But it was Celtic who took an early lead, after an unfortunate deflection bamboozled BLAggers keeper James Hogg.
BLAggers, a steady 8th in the league after a heroic draw with top-of-the-league Valhalla last week, needed three valuable points to reach 6th, but had a real task on their hands without defensive rock Nathan Jones in defense, and Phil ‘Danish’ Trowler, who limped off after just minutes with an injury. Patrick McCarthy, of popular reality TV football show ‘Fash F.C.’ mucked in at the back, while debuts were given to two new faces from the BLAggers scouting program, yet by half time the Brits were down two-nil, and facing a slip down the table.
That was of course, until a remarkable comeback ensued, with a goal from new striker Luke, his second in two games, and an inspired change in tactics from BLAggers Coach Bob Gibson. Loading the box in the dying moments, Gavin Quirk launched the ball forward causing pandemonium in the Celtic defense. BLAggers midfielder Jeff Maysh equalized and the game finished with a Cup Final tempo right to the whistle, a single point rescued. Coach Bob Gibson rued a second half missed penalty, but said, “The BLAggers are finally blossoming,” he told a Brits in LA reporter at the Daily Pint pub, Santa Monica. “But we won’t be at the flower show this year.”

The Blaggers penultimate game in the Premier League is against FK Dinamo at the Crossroads Field, Thursday 13th, 8pm.
