If you are new to LA you maybe interested to know that you don’t need an American credit score to buy or lease a car, there is such thing as an International Leasing plan that both Volkswagen, Santa Monica and Audi Pacific offer, that takes into account your credit score back home and proof of some sort of visa to work in the USA. Email Artem or Jordan at Volkswagen, SM or Evan Bolton at Audi Pacific at  to find out how you can get into a car hassle free - these guys have helped countless Brits in LA members already.

Plus both dealerships have committed to donating $100 per vehicle leased or sold to

Editor's Letter

Hi Everyone
Another busy week for Brits in LA!
I just got in from seeing and hearing the legendary
Frederick Forsyth courtesy of Writers Bloc . He was
absolutely fascinating.I was so honoured  to be part of his audience.
He is on a book tour for his latest novelThe Kill List ,
I hear there are a few signed copies available for purchase at Skylight Books in Los Feliz....
Frederick Forsyth & Me!
The Writers Bloc have a fantastic schedule of speakers lined up, including Kris Kristofferson,
Billy Crystal and our very own Helen Fielding! Make sure to sign up for their mailing list to keep in the loop. Huge thank you and congratulations to Andrea Grossman for curating such a great schedule.

Can I just say Well done to Mo Farah!
Second-ever athlete to win 5km and 10km double in Olympics and World Championships!

Also thank you again to Allied for organizing the One Direction Screening last week. My inbox was full on Thursday night , with thanks from all the grateful Mothers & Daughters!

As you may know we have a new Key Member program which Craig and I are very excited about!

I have been trying out some of the latest discounts offered to Key Members, LouLou Hair adjusted my colour last week , then I had a bite at one of my current favourites, The Pikey over the weekend.  Bedford & Burns seems to be proving pretty popular too! We still have a few available, so if you are interested in buying one please drop us a line by clicking here (don't forget to put Key Member in the subject)

PUB CRAWL was an awful lot of fun . Massive thanks to Allied
who helped organise our Red Double Decker Bus tour.
We were celebrating  the release of Simon Pegg's new film
The World's End.
Cat & Fiddle, Kings Head II, Laurel Tavern and The Pikey
were all fabulous hosts as always.
Attendee's got tickets to see the film, so I am sure you will hear all about it
at Breakfast Club!

The official BRITS in LA football team, the BLAggers, will be holding trials this Sunday afternoon (AUGUST 25th) in Culver City. If you are over 30 and would like to join the team in time for the next season, please email us at for more details.

Talking of football - it is Premier League time and it sounds like the uproar is more over which cable company is showing rather than who is going to win the title! i am sure you are just as excited (and relieved) to hear that the fabulous
Steve Sidelynk is our new sports correspondent!!! Read his column here

Craig and I are busy planning ‘DEAD BRITISH 2’ -The return of our Halloween Party -where you dress up as either a dead British person or something Dead (Very) British --

1501 Will Rogers Historic State Park Road, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272

'A Midsummer Night's Dream' directed by Tim Robbins. Last 3 weeks! 2 for 1 for BLA members- just use the code, "puck"

"Why is this Night different from all other Nights? To start with, it’s smart, it’s imaginative, it’s beautiful, it makes sense of the peculiar world Shakespeare created. It takes the titular dream to heart, as characters shape-shift and locales subtly morph. Still, the text is clear. Under the direction of Tim Robbins and starring a mere 12 actors, it’s one of the best versions to have graced LA stages in recent decades." Arts in LA

Craig saw this and absolutely loved it!

Its time to make space for new opportunities and to explore your world in a different way .If you normally enjoy routine be ready to leave that way of thinking on the back burner for a few weeks anyway.

On the upside you can expect a call from someone from the past and this time you need to be upfront honest and speak very frankly about your feelings. On the down side it may not be the best week for finances.

The sun in Leo this coming week will bring something to a head  and it  favors getting a handle on any part of life that you are not being honest about. You know very well how to hide from your feelings this is time to be open.

The consequences are long reaching for you especially if  you have not reconciled with who or what is not resolved .Your past  or parts of it will catch you up this month for sure. Be sure you have a time to rest up.

Yes this is a time for the inner artist to show itself for some of you who are not participating in life as you know you can. This week could end on a note of self pity if you don’t take action now. Happy Birthday and a trip is on the cards

Its time for a trip and short or long near or far matters not as you benefit from the change of scenery. Just make sure you have enough time to really start any thing from scratch or you will be stressed.

By mid week or so you will have something you need to be completed by the end of the month .When this is completed you can take time out  for your self .This is time for you not others. You are getting ready for life changing  events.

This is the time of year when you are thinking of shedding away what the summer months have left you feeling or thinking .You fare better in Autumn and as its just
around the corner get ready to jump start it.

A problem in your work situation is just a storm in a teacup and so lighten up especially this weekend when you can relax with family or friends .Be sure you pay that bill that is
outstanding now!

.This week get rid of any stuff in your life and this means all areas and start fresh by the end of the month as the next month will bring some clearance for you in the financial area.Jupiter in your opposite sign of Cancer will assist you.

Family situations can evolve this week and as you already know what you should do make an effort and the reward will be peace of mind. You have an opportunity to meet a possible new love or at least a  new friend.

This week ahead will bring back to the front of your life a situation you had thought to forget. The greatest plans of mice and men come to mind so be prepared. You should be out and about this week ahead.

Check out new BBC sitcom starring
David Walliams & Catherine Tate!
