If you are new to LA you maybe interested to know that you don’t need an American credit score to buy or lease a car, there is such thing as an International Leasing plan that both Volkswagen, Santa Monica and Audi Pacific offer, that takes into account your credit score back home and proof of some sort of visa to work in the USA. Email Artem or Jordan at Volkswagen, SM or Evan Bolton at Audi Pacific at  to find out how you can get into a car hassle free - these guys have helped countless Brits in LA members already.

Plus both dealerships have committed to donating $100 per vehicle leased or sold to

Editor's Letter

Hi Everyone

Whilst the rest of you have been sobbing over the ending of Breaking Bad, we here at Brits in LA have been working hard.
First off I spent most of last week planning a surprise celebration for Craig's 40th. I didn't think I could get anything past him, but I was wrong!
Craig is surprised!
It was a lovely afternoon and the turn out was very impressive, so thank you to everyone who made Craig's birthday extra special!
We all got to eat a piece of Craig - FYI he tastes like Red Velvet!
So I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of us all to say...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRAIG! Brits in LA would be at a loss without you!

This past week has been jammed packed full of British music acts playing in LA. We were lucky enough to snag tickets to Depeche Mode at the Staples Center. It was one of the best concerts I have seen in years!

Dave Gahan was like Ian Curtis, Prince, Mick Jagger and Freddy Mercury all thrown in to a blender. The whole band were amazing and the crowd was so energetic that I almost forgot I was in LA, where the audience is usually a bit too cool for school. The Arctic Monkeys, Jake Bugg, Savages, Frightened Rabbit, Moby and so many more all have or had gigs this week. So make sure to keep in the loop by adding our Gigging Page to your bookmark. Placebo, the Pet Shop Boys, Travis and Ellie Goulding are all here soon too!

Craig and I popped along to Mid City neighbourhood restaurant Rascals last Thursday. Great beer selection and very tasty food. They also offer a 15% discount to Brits in LA Key Members ! If you are interested in joining us you can shoot us an email at to find out more about it.

Humor Abuse
Performed by Lorenzo Pisoni
Directed by Erica Schmidt
Mark Taper Forum
Sept 17 – Nov 3, 2013
Run away and join the circus with a clown, his dad and a lifetime of memories.
“90 minutes of nonstop hilarity…a tour de force of physical comedy.” – San Francisco Chronicle
Life lessons fly fast and funny for Lorenzo Pisoni when he joins the family business – San Francisco’s Pickle Family Circus – at the age of six, earning his clown college stripes (and polka dots) through on-the-job training with his exacting father as his role model, guru and comic foil.
In his autobiographical Humor Abuse, Pisoni is a one-man whirlwind: spinning stories like plates and performing side-splitting physical feats with aplomb, mixing heart and humor in a tenderly rendered homage to the consummate performer, parent and perfectionist who taught him everything he needed to fill some very big shoes.
“Mr. Pisoni’s performance is breathtaking,” – Charles Isherwood, The New York Times

She is amazing!

Please be kind to another who may be feeling sorry for themselves this week.
This person is really not having  a good experience in life and needs your support.
The reward is in itself is the deed.

What has been a problem will melt away like snow in sunshine. You need
to get moving and grooving and start the season in good form and energy. A past friend will contact you out of the blue

What can you achieve this week is up to how willing you are to make the right connections. Holding back for the right time is wasting time and as you must be aware by now time and tide wait for no man

If you continue to hold on to grudges you will be on the wrong end of the stick
This week in a situation that will require you to be discreet and low key be sure you are as things will back fire on you if not .

The powerhouse planet Mars is sitting on top of your life for and this can cause you to clash with others you would not normally clash with. Take a time out or short vacation and keep your self comfortable.

Any task you take on will be easier to deal with than for the last few weeks this week and as this  benefit will last until through the  end of next month  make it the priority to complete.

Travel is much on your mind and this can make you a bit antsy if you cannot get away right now. The clue is to make an effort to keep busy as you well know there is lot to take care of before you can up and go .Have a very Happy Birthday.

You likely have some mighty obsession going on right now as your ruler Mars sits in the fiery sign of Leo. Take note of how you are feeling and if this is a familiar feeling which it probably is then it is time to change your reaction by taking action.

A new venture will brighten up your life in more ways than one .Be dressed to be noticed this week ahead especially in any social occasion as an old friend or love may appear out of the blue You will be especially good in any sports exercise right now

The feeling of being alone may be here or just passed .This only a feeling and it’s to teach you that all changes in life start with your thought process. Make sure you are thinking in a positive way.

It the time of year to celebrate not ruminate especially if you have been out of sorts or a little blue moody recently. You will find now the Autumn is here life will be brighter and as the weather gets cooler so will you .

You are the only one who can set your own boundaries and take a leading role in who decides what you will do. Be ready for an unexpected expense and so to prepare will make it a lot easier to deal with.

Remember this?
It was number 1 in the UK charts the week you were born!
