If you are new to LA you maybe interested to know that you don’t need an American credit score to buy or lease a car, there is such thing as an International Leasing plan that both Volkswagen, Santa Monica and Audi Pacific offer,  you need proof of some sort of visa to work in the USA. Email Artem or Jordan at Volkswagen, SM or Evan Bolton at Audi Pacific at  to find out how you can get into a car hassle free - these guys have helped countless Brits in LA members already.

Plus both dealerships have committed to donating $100 per vehicle leased or sold to

Editor's Letter
Hi Everyone!!
DEAD BRITISH! DEAD BRITISH! DEAD BRITISH! Can you tell I am excited about our Halloween party?!  I am really looking forward to seeing all your costumes, you are such a creative bunch , I just know they will be outstanding as usual!
Make sure to catch Craig’s column next week to see all the fab Dead Brits that showed up! Huge thank you to Volkswagen Santa Monica and Beltran Brito for supporting this event. For those of you that are not aware, Volkswagen Santa Monica offer a foreign business professional leasing program which ultimately means you don’t need to have credit established here to get a car! Beltran Brito is one of the immigration firms our members prefer - for more details check out their advert below.
Extra special thank you to Bar Lubitsch (the sister bar of the Pikey) for letting us host our party there.
I am delighted to announce we have reached over 6000 members on our Facebook page!! If you have put in a request to join and are still pending, make sure to drop us a line to give us a nudge. We automatically accept new members to the group only if they have friends that are already members, otherwise we ask that you send an email to us telling us a little about yourselves.
Or just come along and say hi at one of our events?!
There are lots to choose from - we have our weekly Breakfast Club sponsored by Next Stop LAX every Tuesday morning at Cecconi’s, I missed this weeks, but I heard we had a very non British guest in attendance...
L-R Marc Conneely, Ron Jeremy,Clement von Franckenstein
Some of you may not be quite so familiar with Ron Jeremy, its definitely an 'only in LA' moment, although he is known all over the world - however be careful if you google him, don't say I didn't warn you ;)

Doctor Who celebrates 50 years!!

We also have Pikey Pub Quiz and also a lot of one off events including our upcoming and very exciting collaboration with the Cat and Fiddle pub in Hollywood, celebrating 50 years of Dr Who on November 23rd. Live broadcast of the anniversary episode ‘The Day of the Doctor’ . Sandro Monetti will be hosting the evening along with special guest Tessa Shaw (from the Third Doctor’s ‘Spearhead from Space’ ). Costumes encouraged, so come and enjoy a cyber-snack or a pint of Extermin-ale with us and some fellow Whovians! Scroll down to our events section for ticket details

The two questions posed to us this week that seemed to get a lot of attention were
‘Where can I buy wellies?’ And ‘Where can I buy parsnips?’ For the answers to these questions and many more - find us on Facebook. I also would love to hear what some of you don’t miss from the UK or what you miss when you are away from LA?
Don’t forget the clocks change here on Saturday night! Think it means we get an extra hour sleep, woohoo!!. The reminder us ‘Americans’ can use is “ Spring forward, Fall back’ , I do, but I still get confused!
Make sure to read all the way to the bottom so you don't miss out on all the deals and discounts we have secured for you. Lots of new events added - bound to be one you fancy!
Are you a Craigslist shopper? Be careful, as not all people are who they say they are.
Just recently a pair of local teenage boys posing as sellers, got arrested for murder.

Humor Abuse
Performed by Lorenzo Pisoni
Directed by Erica Schmidt
Mark Taper Forum
Thru – Nov 3, 2013
Run away and join the circus with a clown, his dad and a lifetime of memories.
“90 minutes of nonstop hilarity…a tour de force of physical comedy.” – San Francisco Chronicle
Life lessons fly fast and funny for Lorenzo Pisoni when he joins the family business – San Francisco’s Pickle Family Circus – at the age of six, earning his clown college stripes (and polka dots) through on-the-job training with his exacting father as his role model, guru and comic foil.
In his autobiographical Humor Abuse, Pisoni is a one-man whirlwind: spinning stories like plates and performing side-splitting physical feats with aplomb, mixing heart and humor in a tenderly rendered homage to the consummate performer, parent and perfectionist who taught him everything he needed to fill some very big shoes.
“Mr. Pisoni’s performance is breathtaking,” – Charles Isherwood, The New York Times

She is amazing!

It’s the time to plan ahead for a trip in the last weeks of the year .This may be even a move of some kind. Whatever this is its best planned at least in part before mid November to make sure you are setting things in order.

Your priority should be taking care of you in any area that requires attention. and this may be your health as Mercury is going backwards in this area of life for you. If you ignore this you will spend a lot more than time than normally getting well.

If you feel you need to make some long overdue changes in settling some kind of emotional situation you are the only one who can.  Now it will be easier to just bite the bullet and go for it because Mercury your boss is going backwards this next week.

You will have to be aware this next week to not be too hard on your self or another or speak out of turn to any one .The consequences are long reaching for you especially this next few days.. The month of November is better.

Yes this is a time for the inner show person to reveal itself for some of you who are not at the full potential of the Lion energy. Mercury in a water sign will wake you up or rattle your bones.

Its time for a trip back maybe in time and when you know when to look at what has worked for you and what has not ,maybe then you can say I did well with out self criticism. You are due a small treat to your self also.

You are feeling lighter literally and brighter than for sometime past. Enjoy what you have learned and let go of what no longer works .In a few weeks Santa will be visiting your money area bringing gifts!

With the Sun in your sign this month and also a powerful eclipse as well this weekend
will leave you  feeling empowered going forward .Whatever has transpired in the last couple of months with any situations  you are now ready to bounce back. and you will get a good resolution. Happy Birthday.

Mars is visiting a grounding sign Virgo and he is like a favorite uncle he usually brings gifts .Be ready to have unexpected guests this month towards the latter part, and even if you are not too happy about this it will end up enriching your life in some way.

All work and no play makes for a dull life .Its not always this way and by mid month life is due for an overall boost for you .Be sure to stand firm in a recent disagreement just because you feel bad does not  mean you are in the wrong.!!

A health or diet issue that has bugged you in the recent past will be back if you have not taken care of it. It could also be someone else health. Be sure to finish any medication or watch another who is forgetful this month.

You have been getting more and more aware of what’s happening in your daily life and how it is affecting you and your overall health. This week ahead confront it in a non threatening way and see how much faster you will rebound and get ready for an especially good month ahead.
