Editor's Letter

We have had another busy week at Brits in LA - Tuesday Pub Quiz was a lot of fun and team 'Our House' got ousted from the top spot by new champions "Sexy Pubber Funkers" !
Our House did come second this week which meant they got a chance to put their hand in the lucky dip! The bonus raffle prize of dinner for four at Beverly Hills restaurant Bedford & Burns was won by Steve Hanlan - so Congratulations to him too!
Come join us every Tuesday , get there about 730 if you need to jump on a team.

On Friday I hosted ‘Steve’s Big One’ honouring our football blog contributor Steve Sidelnyk’s 50th birthday. We were at the Pikey (as usual!) and resident British chef Ralph Johnson made a very unusual birthday cake for the occasion. The Americans amongst us named it a chip buddy cake, however no one can mistake this classic dish for anything else other than a Chip Butty ! This wasn’t made of sponge  to look like a sandwich but proper white bread, with butter and french fries!
If you are interested in having a gathering at The Pikey - email Eric and mention Brits in LA, and I am sure he will take very good care of you!

BAFTA/LA put on quite an event this past weekend! Craig & I were lucky enough to attend as guests of Jaguar USA and I have to say this may have been the most entertaining one yet! Not least because I was in the same room as George Clooney!!
Craig happened to be sitting right behind honoree Sacha Baron Cohen, so I can't resist sharing these pictures of him snapped from the screen!
L-R Craig Young, Isla Fisher, Michael Di Girolamo
For those of you that missed the show (aired on BBC America last Sunday)
Sacha Baron Cohen was presented the Charlie Chaplin Award,
but of course he received it in a very controversial way! Scroll to the bottom to watch the video - Below is Craig at the front and centre of the action!

We also managed to catch up with a few of the other guests
including the handsome Dominic Cooper
and the beautiful Bérénice Marlohe
and also a very dapper Mark 'Rhino' Smith
Me (Eileen) and Mark 'Rhino" Smith

It was lovely to see so many Brits in LA members in attendance, all dressed up in their posh frocks and tuxedo's. You certainly do scrub up well ;) !

We also got to see the stunning new F-Type that was on display. If you fancy checking it out for yourself, I hear it will be appearing at the LA Auto Show too. November 22nd - Dec 1st Get tickets here

She is amazing!

In any relationship situation please understand you cant control everything that people think, so all you can do is  keep an eye on what the other person is doing as it will be all you can do .The best thing is to just act nonchalant.

Your priority should be taking care of your life in any area that requires attention.  Start with what you know is well overdue .On the upside you can expect a call from a long ago friend with a great invite so get on those glad rags.

If you just think about it you will know that your gut level feeling has been right all along on some  important situation. Try to relax this weekend and not sweat about what you can not change. You will be making an overdue call this week.

You will have to be aware this next week to not speak out of turn or harshly to any one .The consequences are long reaching for you especially if it’s a close friend or family .Its best to say nothing at all right now.

Yes this is a time for the inner crank to show itself for some of you who are not participating in life as you know you can. If you or some close to you has any health issue make sure it is is not stress as this can be the cause.

Its time for a change of scenery this can be as simple as a coat of paint on the walls to a trip out of town. Either way its best to take some action rather then brood as this is the worst thing to do. Keeping good health in mind, body and spirit is important.

If you have things you need to be working on in the home area  get moving and you can be finished by next week .If you waste the time you will be too busy with other things and you will have a possible visitor who is unexpected.

You may be ready for action however finances are not in the same place and it will be a few days before you feel more comfortable in your pocket. The current planet lineup will be slower to help you however it will be in time for the holiday.

You could be feeling a bit moody or out of sorts due to Mercury acting up in you area of deep feelings .The sun coming this week to visit you will improve a lot of your life. Start planning for extra guests this holiday

Your financial situation is still not what you want, however in order to achieve a positive flow of  cash you must be prepared to look at how you think you are .If you are feeling in lack then it will continue .Wake up with the outlook of all things are possible today !!

Its your decision on how you deal with a situation pending to do with your home. .If you want to change any thing be sure to clear out of your life any dead wood and leave the space ready to be filled by what you want to manifest.

You may be accident prone this week and next so take it easy when out and about .If you need extra cash be sure and have a flutter as much as you can this couple of weeks  as this a lucky period financially  for you . The week can bring some family unrest to light.
