Meet Matthew Postlethwaite and Jeffrey Postlethwaite,
also know as
Was there a particular reason you chose LA ? LA is the capital of the world when it comes to TV and Film production, so the location was a no brainer. What can we see you in? We both appeared in the BBC drama Peaky Blinders series 1&2. Jeffrey played "Henry" and Matthew played "Nipper".
We both have separate films come out at Easter time as well.
Jeffrey plays Carl in the new feature film "Rough Cut" being released through out Europe.
Matthew plays Walt Flanagan in the Kevin Smith biopic Feature film "Shooting Clerks"
What is do you miss most from home? The country side! Coming form the Lake District we spent a lot of time out doors, come rain or shine we would always be outside. We also miss the food, they have fantastic food here and they are incredibly creative with the 'healthier' food, but it's not quite like home food! Finally our family and friends, however we do keep in touch with a lot of them through social media- thank god that exists! What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus the remote town of Egremont? LA is huge! We come from a small town in the Lake District.
We had 300 people in our secondary school and knew most of them. Moving to LA has been an eye opener and a huge culture shock, but we are loving it!
It's not really hidden, in fact quite the opposite; the trail up to the Hollywood sign, looking down it just makes you appreciate where you are and all that have came through the city before us. It's inspiring.
What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here? Plan ahead as much as you can and save up enough money, you really want to try and hit the ground running so the more meetings you can set up the better. We arrived on the Monday and had all of our meetings in the first week, agreeing a management deal with Luber Roklin Entertainment by the Friday. The town moves fast and if your not organised it can be quite overwhelming. Other than that, just set a date, that way you have something to work towards, we booked our flights, and worked everything around that. If your your life was a TV show what would be the theme tune ?
